Hellfire Wyverns are so named for their foul tempers and fiery visages. Their social structure places all females above all males, due to superior physical characteristics and violent dispositions. Forced subservience of the males causes them to become vicious, petty, antisocial, and passive-aggressive compared to the aggressive and social females. However, orphaned hatchlings raised by foster parents of another species can develop surprisingly even tempers and mellow dispositions, proving that their defining unpleasant nature is, in fact, a learned behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Roark raw has a calm, serious and collected personality only using physical violence when hunting or as a last option. And when he does has the intention of hurting somebody he won't hesitate to kill. Being one of the first Hellfire Wyverns in the clan he was raised by foster parents of another species, which can mostly explain his nature and that he is somewhat more sophisticated than other Hellfire Wyverns who didn't have his childhood. He is also somewhat of a romantic, talking to other dragons with telepathy about poetry (he has indeed taught himself to read) which is his favorite subject in a small talk. Unfortunately most dragons in the clan have no idea what he is talking about and only nod yes to respect that he is even trying. He teaches hatchlings in the clan how to read and is considered by the hatchlings as their favorite teacher. Roark is very close friends with his clan members Abhay Adish, Samuel define and Ramuh. He also has photographic memory like Ramuh.
