Deep Sea Dragons, as their name suggests, spend most of their time in the darkest depths of the sea. They have a bioluminescent dorsal spine that serves to attract prey and communicate with their own kind. As with many deep sea animals, they generally eat whatever they can manage to bait. They rarely leave the ocean floor, surfacing only during breeding season. When they do choose to travel to the shallower depths, they avoid bright lights and will only come up far away from shore.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Some may consider him a recluse, but he deeply loves his adopted family. Oceanum lives in the depths like most of his brethren but maintains the strong familial ties he has. His aquatic and coastal family are the most frequented when he visits. Otherwise, Ocea lives in the depths of the sea and collects unseen treasures while exploring. Following other creatures out of curiosity is a fun pastime, but surfacing at night and blinking at the stars has often proved interesting. Upon some visits to his home, his adopted siblings enjoy his luminescence and flashing, as he's not the most verbal dragon. As much as he can, he attempts to educate himself on topics of interest with pictures. Any seafood will do if lounge with him at night in shallow waters. He possesses a patch of deep sea floor a few miles from the coast, occasionally appearing with scars from battle. Oceanum Profundum is overall a laid back and independent sea dragon that may not always be around, but can be depended upon.
