Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Eje is quite the stuck-up dragon. She seems to think that her gold scales make her superior to others and entitle her to special treatment. Though she refuses to associate with "lesser" dragons, she has made an exception for her bodyguard, Girum Grandus. Although she would never admit it, some suspect that she may have feelings for the guardian.
