Sunset Dragons are closely related to sunrise dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunset Dragons generally live alone or in small packs. They are more active in the evening, hunting and performing all of their daily tasks as the sun sets.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Roland is the eleventh dragon of the Natashina clan, and enjoys counting the first stars of the evening.  He's mysterious, even to other members of the brood that grew up with him.  Roland likes to speak in riddles and tales, always with a calm smile on his face.  He is one of the few that really gets along with the Vine dragon and talks frequently to Starsin and Magus for advice on magic. Spikey and Roland are arch rivals, with the Fin dragon's blunt demeanor clashing greatly with Roland's abundant patience.  He is mildly amused by this rivalary, leaving her unable to penetrate his shield of disciplined calm. Roland stands watch with Valkore during the sunset and assists her in teaching the hatchlings the art of the combat.
