Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Diamondina SnowTouch (after the gemstone: Diamond) was the 39th dragon to join the clan cave, amidst the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season. Her arrival was marked by a massive snow storm, and The Clan Mother almost didn't see her egg encased within a rather large ball of snow and ice. Once inside the warm confines of the clan cave, the outer shell began to melt away and the remaining shape boar an uncanny resemblance to an angel of snow. To this very day, nothing gives Diamondina such joy as when she is able to create her tiny treasures, small figurines of snow which she somehow manages to freeze in time, for they never seem to melt. It is said that, upon completion of each piece, she bends a wing, touching the golden tip to the work, and thus it seems to crystallize and transform into a shimmering miniature of her very self. Each year, she proudly gifts these precious tokens to those within the clan to whom she fancies.
