Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Merlin's Sanctuary is a one of a kind dragon. As a hatchling, he was severely inbred, and soon, his eyesight deteriorated and his bright, clear eyes turned dark and cloudy. He eventually began to grow, despite his sickly state. The others jeered at him, though he did not care. At times, his cloudy, sightless eyes seemed to be scattered with twinkling stars, as if the night sky had descended into them, and he gained an insight like no other dragon has ever. He became one of the wisest of the wise dragons, and dedicated his life to rescuing inbred hatchlings about to be murdered by cruel dragon keepers obsessed with keeping their dragons perfect. He brings them to a faraway paradise, where there is plenty to eat and drink, and they live there until they mature. Many revere him, and several of his rescued hatchlings have decided to devote themselves as he had. Someday, Merlin's Sanctuary wants to form a guild of dragons to do what he does forever, even after his frail body inevitably dies.
