Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Everyone has a hoard in some form or another, whether it is a stockpile of food or a mound of treasure. But no matter who owns it, all have some fear that Kekatarrek will make a target out of theirs. Using her natural dexterity, she zips through the tight spaces of their "lairs", worming her way past the various guards and traps set for the intruders. Very rarely does she get caught, but her intents are not malevolent in either case. She merely likes to challenge her own speed, working on faster ways to get through the courses set before her. After she "wins", she leaves a message with the hoard's owner, informing them of the holes in their security. She then negotiates the revelation of them, usually only giving the information after they give a small portion of their hoard to her in return for her services.

Recently, she has had her eye on the hoard of Giamerim as well as the dragon, but whether this is a spark of romance or just another trial she is measuring up remains to be seen.
