Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

NJ Dagnir hails from a distant land. Her birth-country was at war with the birth-country of the Thuwed clan, so in an effort to end the war, her parents arranged a marriage between her and a young Thuwed prince. NJ was not pleased about this; she was forced to leave behind her home, her friends, and her childhood love. As a result she seems aloof and stuffy around the young Virgel Thuwed. Even though she knows it is not his fault, she can't bring herself to not blame Virgel for the situation. However, if she were to take the time to talk to him, perhaps she would finally see just how much she has in common with the young Thuwed.
