Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Kiera was born in Everrain Deep, a volcanic cave where the water dripping down is like an eternal rain. That is why her scales are pale grayish-blue, and the orange veins glow faintly in the dark in order to attract cave insects such as little spiders. Being half gold dragon on her mother's side, she has a good sense of self-defense, so she hid in the Everrain Deep even after her parents abandoned her. Arya found her and brought her to the surface, making her part of the pack. She is Arya's personal favorite, and is always by her side.

Kiera is a shy and calm she-dragon, but she holds an inner strength bigger than any other dragon from Arya's Pack, and she would never abandon her friends, she'd rather give her life fighting for them.
