Aww... It's a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.
And look! It's grown its wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. Their scales don't grow in until right before they mature, and they have almost no strength. Once a hatchling's wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are usually left alone by their mother and begin to hunt and survive on their own.

Black gold scale decided that humans weren't worth her time to be kind to. After watching her mother destroy five towns, she decided that is what she would do with her life. Because of this, she has been frozen as a hatchling to keep her from her fate. That doesn't mean anyone's safe, because she still goes after any human that goes past her, especially her own "master." She sees Wolfin as a threat and an annoyance, so she watches as her "master" sleeps, and tries to decide the best way to kill the owner of her scroll.
