And look! It's grown its wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. Their scales don't grow in until right before they mature, and they have almost no strength. Once a hatchling's wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are usually left alone by their mother and begin to hunt and survive on their own.

Xelyna was taken in by Allynar when she was young, and she finds the two older purple dragons equally fascinating.  She is enchanted by Violetias eccentricities, and is equally enthralled by Allynars endless patience and peacefulness.  Unsure of how she should behave herself, Xelyna spends a lot of time simply observing the others.  She is a little bit shy and insecure, so she prefers to sit off to the side while the other hatchlings play or practice hunting.
