Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling's wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.
Dragons don't communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.
Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.
Vi Veri Veniversum is always next to her Silver companion, Vivus Vici. Together, their names (Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici) mean, "By the power of truth, I, while living have conquered the universe." She represents the conqueror of universes, and appears in ancient mythology, "And then the heavens opened up, and from them shine a beam of pure golden light which cuts through the shadows below..." Of course she doesn't actually possess these attributes of divine power; she just merely resembles the dragon from the ancient pictures and drawings of the protector of the worlds and the warrior of the heavens. She spends her time roaming the plains with Vivus Vici avoiding the bounty hunters who seek her golden scales. She works with her partner to rid caves of monsters to provide homes for the homeless. Her scales provide her with great defense to help protect her from the evil that lurks in the darkness, while Vivus Vici's glowing aura helps illuminate the cave.
