Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling's wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.
Dragons don't communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.
Sunset dragons are closely related to sunrise dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunset dragons generally live alone or in small packs. They are more active in the evening, hunting and performing all of their daily tasks as the sun sets.
Vesper's pride and joy is the wind-harp he designed. He set it up in a pass where the wind blows almost constantly, and it is illuminated beautifully in the sunset, which is the earliest he sees it during day. At great expense, he worked with both human glass workers and magi dragons to set it up. The humans shaped and formed the glass, and the magis made sure there were no flaws and that the glass was unbreakable. Now he spends his time building amazing structures for monarchs from all over.
