Aww... It's a cute baby dragon. Unlike the other hatchlings, this one hatched with wings.
And look! Its back legs have become a second set of wings! It must be close to maturing.
Young dragons are relatively defenseless. Their scales don't grow in until right before they mature, and they have almost no strength. Once a hatchling's wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are usually left alone by their mother and begin to hunt and survive on their own.
Thadel only spends limited time on the ground and the rest of the time she's up the sky with her parents, Blite apvel and Savatu. When she is on the ground she is almost always either helping her mother with her healing magic by cracking her own scales or hurting herself so her mother can heal her right back up so she can do it again. Thadel's mother doesn't like it when she does this, but Thadel won't stop so she has to keep healing. Her father however loves that Thadel is so dedicated to her clan that she is willing to risk hurting herself. Thadel is always happy even if she has some new injury to milk, and never gets mad at anything.
