Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling's wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don't communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Feisty and energetic, whiptail dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Skeid lives for thrills, for the rush of adrenaline, the fierce pumping of a heart and the feel of the wind past her skin. She is a seeker of extremes, constantly searching for new sensations and ways to make herself feel truly alive. That is when she is happiest. Those moments of insane euphoria, when she is lightheaded with the high of some new game and every second passes in a shining golden glory of vitality. Apathy, lethargy and inactivity are synonyms of death to this child of danger. She knows that one day, her passions will kill her, but she doesn't care: in her eyes, it will all have been worth it.
