Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling's wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don't communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Silver dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Male silver dragons hunt and eat meat. While not as beautiful or radiant as females, silver males possess better physical attributes, such as strength.

Silvaroth is an intelligent and cunning silver dragon. Unlike many of the other silver dragons in the cave, he is not vain about his dazzling appearance. Instead, he's quite humble, and spends most of his time alone studying. He uses his smarts solely for self-gain, and doesn't mind harming others to achieve his ends. No dragon save for his mate chooses to associate with him, and many view any approach from him as heralding something ill to come. His mate is a fiery-tempered storm dragon who's just as ruthlessly cunning as he is. When the two match minds, they can brew up some real trouble in the cave.
