Aww... It's a cute baby dragon. You think it's a girl, although you're not sure how to check.
And look! It's grown its wings! It must be close to maturing.
Young dragons are relatively defenseless. Their scales don't grow in until right before they mature, and they have almost no strength. Once a hatchling's wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are usually left alone by their mother and begin to hunt and survive on their own.
In every neighborhood, be it of humans or dragons, there always is that one kid that no one can find during a game of hide-and-go-seek. Rusea just happens to be that dragon in her tribe. Rusea discovered her 'gift' during her first game of hide-and-go-seek with the other hatchlings. While the others chose hiding spots that were easy to get into and somewhat hidden, Rusea went all the way and hid in the small space between a tree and it's dying bark. It was moldy, it was filled with bugs, and it was perfect. The other hatchlings couldn't find her until midnight, when a large moth crawled under the bark and startled Rusea into screeching loudly, giving away her hiding space. Rusea loves hiding so much, she asked Hopper, the magi dragon, to freeze her forever as a hatchling so she could continue to hide in small places. To this day Rusea is always hiding, and more than once she has been mistaken for lost out in the woods and a dragon rescue team has been sent to find her.
