Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling's wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.
Dragons don't communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.
Sunrise dragons are closely related to sunset dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunrise dragons prefer to live in large groups and enjoy basking in the early morning sun. They are usually most active in the morning, and go to sleep in the early evening.
Rising of the Sun is a powerful sunrise dragon, who wakes up when the sun begins to rise and joins some of his scroll mates to watch it. Immediately after the sun starts to fully shine in the sky, Rising of the Sun does all the work he needs to do, and also manages to find plenty of time to enjoy with others. As soon as the sun begins to go down, however, the day's activities are over for him and it's time to go to sleep again. He often stays away from any sunset dragons, as he greatly dislikes them for various unknown reasons.
