How Puchi ended up in the Ruda Clan is common knowledge: when Baltazar the Valiant was a mere hatchling, he had one day wandered away from the clan's territory and stumbled upon a chicken farmer peddling his eggs on a dirt road. Upon seeing the young dragon, the farmer dropped his basket of eggs and fled. All of the eggs except one were broken in the fall. Although still a hatchling, Baltazar was still a Guardian dragon and took the egg back home, which he nurtured and raised with the help of Villi the Graceful and Ilithyia the Gentle. As Baltazar protects Puchi from harm, Puchi can now be considered the clan's pet and while she serves no real purpose in clan life, the hatchlings find it endlessly amusing and chase her around for fun.
