Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Hatchlings spend a relatively long period of time as hatchlings, from 100 to 200 years, before they mature. Adolescence is usually marked by a hatchling's wings growing in, but not all breeds of dragons grow wings. Baby dragons all look very similar, but once they hit adolescence, they change very fast, they mature to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don't communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Every guardian dragon has a large shield on the end of their tail. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

In the midst of the night, a stranger by the name of "BL00DW0LF" stole this egg from a cave full of them. He showed the egg to everyone, for the egg seemed to need their approval in order to hatch. This dragon, as a hatchling, spoke to BL00DW0LF and told him that he should be called Pifis. BL00DW0LF cared for the hatchling, and enjoyed its playful company. Pifis obviously had other plans, since once it became independent, it flew away, and was seldom seen again.
