Aww... It's a cute baby dragon... except for the tangle of dangerous-looking vines surrounding it...
Now there are even more vines. Perhaps something is happening?

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. Their scales don't grow in until right before they mature, and they have almost no strength. Once a hatchling's wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are usually left alone by their mother and begin to hunt and survive on their own.

Petrified Vineling is one of the many hatchlings frozen by Crocoitia (a magi dragoness).  He asked Crocoitia to freeze him when he saw how much fun another frozen vine hatchling, by the name of Petrified Sapling, has.  He accepted Wulfenite's (Crocoitia's mate) invitation to come live with the dragons so that he would be near the safety of adult dragons. Although Petrified Vineling is a hatchling his attitude is similar to that of an adult vine dragon.  That attitude gets him into trouble at times when he angers something larger than himself.
