Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. "Why you should avoid direct references to your vampirism in casual conversation."

"It is commonly known among our kind that other dragons do not take kindly to our presence. Take this conversation for example: "Hi, what's your name" "Nefarious Darkling." "What an unusual name!" "Yeah, I'm an evil, bloodthirsty, demonic vampire." "Oh! That's nice."

Most vampires would immediately notice the futility of the above conversation, especially if you intend to eat the dragon. One solution would be to not converse at all. This is often seen as rude, and a more polite way to answer would be to lie and say "Yeah, my mother was a frill, she named me the first thing she thought of". That way you can maintain a basically polite stance, and your meal at the same time."
