Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling's wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don't communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Silver dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Silver females, like most female dragons, eat meat only when a male dragon brings it to them. They possess an almost magical aura that lights up any place they are in, and are looked upon with awe by humans and animals alike.

It is said that in late winter when the clouds are laden with snow and the sky is leaden with it's brooding, Mythryl steals from her beautiful chambers deep in the mines of the Dwarfs and grants riches to the poor of the land.  Poverty is rampant. She is driven to alleviate it as best she can. Her time away is limited, however. She is guarded jealously by her small, cruel, and tenacious masters. If caught outside the caves, she is punished. Mythryl yearns for freedom. Her light grows ever brighter despite her oppression and the children in the alleyways and neglected courtyards long to catch a glimpse of The Silver Dream as they call her in hopes that they may lay hold of her wonderous tail and be taken to a much better place.
