Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling's wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don't communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Cheese dragons are not actually alive. They are enchanted items of food that act almost identically to dragons. They have no need to eat, but they must 'live' in humid environments or they will dry out and harden.

Mozzarella Cheese is aware that he is cheese, when humans chase after him he simply flies away. Flying can be hard for Mozzarella Cheese because his wings are covered in holes, but he still manages to escape the hunter before he is turned into little blocks of cheese. He strongly smells which cause humans can find him quickly. Mozzarella Cheese is rarely seen by the other dragons, because he is normally escaping humans, and also,he lives in humid areas but that doesn't keep humans away. Most people know that Mozzarella Cheese isn't really alive, but he is cheese and everyone likes that.
