Aww... It's a cute baby dragon. Ever since it hatched, it has been hiding among the tree leaves.
And look! It's grown its wings! It must be close to maturing.
Young dragons are relatively defenseless. Their scales don't grow in until right before they mature, and they have almost no strength. Once a hatchling's wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are usually left alone by their mother and begin to hunt and survive on their own.
Mitsurin Touei's name roughly means "jungle flicker of light." She is somewhat shy and more than a little bit coy, and so you rarely see more of her than the flash of her stripes as she darts from tree to bush and back again. She really likes the wild mushrooms that grow in her damp environment, and will vigorously run off any other animals she catches eating them so she can claim the prize for herself.
