Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Hatchlings spend a relatively long period of time as hatchlings, from 100 to 200 years, before they mature. Adolescence is usually marked by a hatchling's wings growing in, but not all breeds of dragons grow wings. Baby dragons all look very similar, but once they hit adolescence, they change very fast, they mature to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don't communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Green dragons are also sometimes called "earth" dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

LordOrpheus, forever a hatchling at heart, has a growl far worse than his gnaw. He likes nothing better than to startle his fellows with a bellowed roar when they least expect it, but his kindness and gentle spirit wins him the deep loyalty of his entire clan. He is a natural leader who gladly shares his knowledge with his peers and encourages young dragons to become stronger, so that they may one day be good leaders to those he love. When he believes no one to be looking, LordOrpheus will oft be found playing with new hatchlings.
