Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling's wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don't communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Silver dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Male silver dragons hunt and eat meat. While not as beautiful or radiant as females, silver males possess better physical attributes, such as strength.

Long John, silver dragon, is indeed quite long as his name implies.  As a silver streak he glides through the air, enjoying tracing the edges of clouds.  Onlookers have often noted a silver lining to the clouds as he shimmers alongside them.

With his sinuous body, Long John has developed excellent hunting technique - he whips around with great speed to capture his prey when it tries to veer out of his path.  This style has captured the eye of several females, and when followed up by the meat from his kills, makes Long John a favored mate.
