Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling's wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don't communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

White dragons are pacifists and specialize in extremely strong healing magic. The only limit of this magic is that it can't bring back the dead. They only eat plants and never kill living things.

Loganth was the product of his mistress Royce's first successful trip into the Dragon Cave. He was abandoned by his parents and believes that he owes his mistress a debt of gratitude for giving him a chance at life.

Loganth is incredibly stern and serious to a fault. Though he may not enjoy joking around as much as his siblings do, he loves to watch the hatchlings at play, and is the first to arrive at the scene when one of them is injured. He is also a voracious seeker of knowledge, and enjoys discussing literature and events in the outside world with Royce. Loganth is very sensible and loyal; he suggested that the dragons take Royce's surname to show that they were all from the same brood.

Most of Loganth's free time is spent bickering with Tess and Deneth. He is quite close to Deneth, as they were taken on the same day and hatched at the same time. The two are as different as night and day, but despite this he sees her as his younger sister and always looks out for her.
