Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling's wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.
Dragons don't communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.
White dragons are pacifists and specialize in extremely strong healing magic. The only limit of this magic is that it can't bring back the dead. They only eat plants and never kill living things.
This one is extremely gentle, and is always the first to rush to help. All the baby dragons run to her when they are hurt, wailing, and she will promptly begin to fuss over them, stopping whatever she is doing to comfort them and pet their little heads until the sniffles die away. Any creature that goes to her with any sort of injury, from a deep wound to a black eye, always leaves looking as good as new. In her spare time, she likes to tug books about medicine and religion off of the shelves and flip them open, intently reading their contents. She greatly enjoys not only those, but any form of reading material, and has formed a makeshift library in the back of her cave. She freely allows prodigious humans to visit her collection to study, although she always keeps a motherly eye on them to make sure the silly little things don't do anything naughty, like trying to steal her books or the like... although, considering she wouldn't hurt a fly, she wouldn't punish them even if they did.
