Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling's wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don't communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Geode dragons are closely related to Stone dragons. They are covered in a hard stone-like material as well as beautiful crystal. Their wings are entirely useless for flight, but they help attract mates. The dragons with the most brilliant and colorful crystals are more likely to mate.

Justarius and Sareki had been trying unsuccessfully for offspring of their own for quite some time.  Before this dragon's egg was laid, everyone would have sworn that Justarius was incapable of dancing.  When a geode hatchling was born from such humble parents, the whole dragon community was surprised.  Kongou Jouhin's name means "polished diamond."  While he is not particularly useful in combat, he is skilled at raising morale and brightening the moods of those around him.  Kongou can frequently be found in the company of unattached females, who consider him beautiful.
