Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling's wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don't communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

White dragons are pacifists and specialize in extremely strong healing magic. The only limit of this magic is that it can't bring back the dead. They only eat plants and never kill living things.

Kaitou Yue runs a small clinic at the southern border of the Kyokos Vale, where the mountain boundaries slope into the forest. He accepts any patient, dragon or human, and he even heals pets and livestock. In return for his cures, Kaitou Yue asks for nothing, making him a popular figure among the nearby peasantry. In spite of this generosity, a discerning eye might note that in the caves behind the clinic, a glittering hoard is slowly amassing. And a clever ear might note a strange rumor. Occasionally, an entire household falls into a deep, rejuvenating sleep. Mansions and palaces and even monasteries have been targeted. When everyone awakens in the morning, hale and refreshed, they discover gaping holes in the stonework where something large (and possibly dragon-sized) forced its way into the treasure rooms and then snatched away the valuables. People would blame demons, except that besides damaged property and the guards' bruised egos, no one is ever harmed during these thefts.
