Aww... It's a cute baby dragon. Ever since it hatched, the sky has been full of very dark clouds.
And look! It's grown its wings! It must be close to maturing. It's learned to use its new wings quickly and you now have a hard time keeping it on the ground.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. Their scales don't grow in until right before they mature, and they have almost no strength. Once a hatchling's wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are usually left alone by their mother and begin to hunt and survive on their own.

Hailstorm hardly spends any time in the cave, prefering to eat, sleep, and spend her time outside, especially in bad weather.  Only exceedingly warm, dry summer days can send her sulking back to the cave for any length of time.  When she is in the cave, the other hatchlings steer clear of her, because she is usually in a foul mood.  While she lacks the power to seriously injure an adult, more than one hatchling has walked around with singed scales for a while after suffering one of her lightning bolt attacks.
