Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Hatchlings spend a relatively long period of time as hatchlings, from 100 to 200 years, before they mature. Adolescence is usually marked by a hatchling's wings growing in, but not all breeds of dragons grow wings. Baby dragons all look very similar, but once they hit adolescence, they change very fast, they mature to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don't communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Bright pink dragons are one of the few all-female breeds of dragons. Their bright colors make them easy to spot during dragon mating season. They are primarily herbivores, but eat meat during mating season when it is brought to them by a mate. Mating seasons occur once every 200 years and can last up to 2 years.

Gothic Princess wanted to be a vampire, but she was much too pink to be accepted into that subculture, so she had to settle for being a goth. But due to her high ambitions, she was given the honorary title of "Gothic Princess." You go, girl! Princess is the cave's rebellious, counterculture elder, declining any behavior that seems (to her) to be conformity for its own sake. This makes her a favorite among older hatchlings, who follow her around hoping her cool factor will rub off on them.
