Aww... It's a cute baby dragon... except for the tangle of dangerous-looking vines surrounding it...
Now there are even more vines. Perhaps something is happening?
Young dragons are relatively defenseless. Their scales don't grow in until right before they mature, and they have almost no strength. Once a hatchling's wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are usually left alone by their mother and begin to hunt and survive on their own.
Folla (pronounced Folya) is a frozen male hatchling. His egg was found abandoned by Loba the dark green female dragon, who was also at the time caring for the dark green female hatchling Zota (now full-grown). Folla was always teased because of his name, which derived from the word foliage.
However, this bullying by other hatchlings ended when he befriended two other frozen hatchlings older than himself. They were Eve Song the purple hatchling and her best friend, the gray Shadow Racer. They defended their new friend and now Folla can walk around without flinching at every passing dragon.
