Aww... It's a cute baby dragon. It has large frills on its head.
And look! It's grown its wings! It must be close to maturing.
Young dragons are relatively defenseless. Their scales don't grow in until right before they mature, and they have almost no strength. Once a hatchling's wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are usually left alone by their mother and begin to hunt and survive on their own.
Daidaiiro Tategami is a sharp and analytical young dragon. He isn't much for welcoming company, although he sometimes shadows the adults. (Most hatchlings he repels with a hiss and flare of his mane.) Surprisingly, he is more interested in the storm dragons than those of his own kind. He has been observed stalking them and then attempting to copy their magic in private. "Dai," as he is nicknamed, can actually manage a respectable mini-storm spell. This helps him compensate for his relatively weak body.
