Aww... It's a cute baby dragon. Although, what's with its eyes?
And look! It's grown its wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. Their scales don't grow in until right before they mature, and they have almost no strength. Once a hatchling's wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are usually left alone by their mother and begin to hunt and survive on their own.

Campanella is the son of H Bomb, the younger of the two adult Magi dragons in the cave he inhabits.  Cam has been surrounded by his father's family since birth.  His father's family are very intelligent and social dragons, and this has rubbed off on Cam.  He sometimes makes jokes that are too high-brow for his friends, and is sometimes labeled a know-it-all by the other dragons in the cave.

Although H Bomb is not the biological son of South Pacific, another Magi, he is like a son to her, making Cam like a grandson.  H Bomb has a brotherly relationship with a Black dragon, Eisenhower, whom Cam calls 'Uncle Ike.'  Cam has a bit of a crush on Ike's daughter, Disneyland, a Pink hatchling.

On his mother's side, however, Cam has no real family other than Panmunjom, a half sister.  However, being a Stone dragon, enchanted to remain a hatchling, Pam can be rather boring company.
