Aww... It's a cute baby dragon. Unlike the other hatchlings, this one hatched with wings.
And look! Its back legs have become a second set of wings! It must be close to maturing.
Young dragons are relatively defenseless. Their scales don't grow in until right before they mature, and they have almost no strength. Once a hatchling's wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are usually left alone by their mother and begin to hunt and survive on their own.
Brando used to enjoy watching his father, Walter Winchell, wage midair spars with a Gray dragon named Richard Nixon, but now he participates in them. Although Brando has been enchanted to remain a hatchling, he can prove an invaluable ally in these friendly spars. He used to fight with his father, but that got boring, and he has taken to backing Richard Nixon, or "Uncle Rick," as Brando calls him.
