Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling's wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don't communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Silver dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Male silver dragons hunt and eat meat. While not as beautiful or radiant as females, silver males possess better physical attributes, such as strength.

Baslartia, the older of the two Astrail brothers, but certainly not the most mature one. Bas is a very over exaggerated character, using big motions, when they really aren't needed. But that's just what makes him who he is. He was taken away from his clan at a young age, and brought up in a group of dragons dedicated to protecting the peace. He eventually strayed and found the brother he never knew existed. Because of his training and experience at leadership, underneath his klutzy exterior, he is a very intelligent and tactical dragon. The thing is, he doesn't really get a chance to show that.
