Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling's wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.
Dragons don't communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.
Silver dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Silver females, like most female dragons, eat meat only when a male dragon brings it to them. They possess an almost magical aura that lights up any place they are in, and are looked upon with awe by humans and animals alike.
Auray had a rough start. Though she hatched and matured peacefully with a clean health record, her glow was always rather dull. Due to being raised with no other hatchlings to play with, Auray was lonely for most of her life, Little Mint and the watchful Glaze becoming the only dragons who took time to watch over her. Once she hit adulthood though, things began to change drastically. With her beauty now fully revealed, the other dragons became friendlier and the males began to eye her. In the end, Glaze became her new watchful mate, and Auray finally realized what happiness was. Her glow became the brightest ever from then on, and she now spends her life watching over the nest with her loving mate, becoming the foster mom of the cave and looked up to by nearly every dragon in the cave.
