Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling's wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don't communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Sunset dragons are closely related to sunrise dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunset dragons generally live alone or in small packs. They are more active in the evening, hunting and performing all of their daily tasks as the sun sets.

Sunset Flame is what his name means and even the most casual glance at Annun'Naur is enough to explain why. His scaly skin is constantly rippling as he restlessly rolls his muscles, his burning eyes flash as his head snaps from side to side, ever alert and his claws flex and unflex against the ground. He is all rage and pride and presence and pent-up fire. Not an easy dragon to be around for he is quick to anger and hates nothing more than staying still. He fights often and fights hard and there is always about him some desperate energy as if he were fighting his own nature. For sunsets, no matter how livid and fierce, always end in night. Annun'Naur rages, rages against the dying of the light.
