Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s extremely curious and seems to enjoy exploring the area around it.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

AmethystBeauty is an adorable little Purple Dragon hatchling. She's much smaller than most other Purple hatchlings. Her egg was only half the size of the other eggs. Healers in her cave's Clinic didn't think she would survive the night, but AmethystBeauty persevered. She's over a decade old now, just a little baby by dragon standards, and going strong. She is more prone to illness than other hatchlings, probably because her immune system is compromised. Everyone in her cave knows about her delicate condition and treats her carefully. Even the meanest hatchling knows to leave her alone (at least where other dragons can see them). AmethystBeauty is often called her cave's "Little Princess" by the adult dragons or "Princess Beauty" by other hatchlings.
