Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling's wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don't communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

Silver dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Male silver dragons hunt and eat meat. While not as beautiful or radiant as females, silver males possess better physical attributes, such as strength.

Though wingless, Allamar enjoys a high rank. Proud, with his radiant appearance, this Silver draco is Orrin and Rion's assistant. He acts as a further enforcer of the laws and is the one keeping track of everyone. He is also the one who most deals with Alkin, working expressly to curb the Black's aggressive actions. Allamar is also the bands diplomat, trusted with the management of relations with other bands. Because of this, he is often missing from the cave, speaking with nearby leaders. Sannya's mate and Darmaco's close friend, he is well liked in the band.
