Aww... It's a cute baby dragon. It perfectly depicts autumn weather.
And look! It's grown its wings! It must be close to maturing.
Young dragons are relatively defenseless. Their scales don't grow in until right before they mature, and they have almost no strength. Once a hatchling's wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are usually left alone by their mother and begin to hunt and survive on their own.
Aka Daichi is the son of Aka Koharu and Terrafyrma. His name -- which means "red earth" -- is a combination of his parents' names, and he normally just goes by "Daichi." The reddish hue of his sire was passed on to him, although slightly muted by his mother's onyx coloring. Although neither parent was completely prepared to nurture a hatchling, they are both excellent teachers, and Daichi has blossomed under their tutelage. He has a rich personality, and is well-liked by just about everyone. He shows an aptitude for magic as well. One of his favorites is an illusory spell where he disappears in an whirl of fall leaves.
