Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.

Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.

It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Ah was named after the human expression (or interjection) of pleasure, pain, sympathy, delight, disgust, surprise, and a myriad of other random emotions. It's one word that encompasses nearly every sentiment one could have. Inevitably, the first noise most people make when learning about this dragon is probably "ah". This is because this dragon is so confusing and obnoxiously random that few other words can possibly describe him accurately. "Um" and "Oh" are some other words that can properly depict the personality of Ah.
