Aww... It's a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.
And look! It's grown its wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. Their scales don't grow in until right before they mature, and they have almost no strength. Once a hatchling's wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are usually left alone by their mother and begin to hunt and survive on their own.

Liberace, like most of his peers, has no idea who he is named after; the wacky and absurdly rich pianist, Wladziu Liberace.  Like the Glitter Man, this little black dragon, who has been enchanted to remain so for his life, has quite a fondness for overdoing it.  He doesn't like fighting, although he is skilled at it; a skill he inherited from his mother, Red China.  Liberace inherited a more overused talent from his father: the talent to talk someone's ear off.

Liberace often uses his magic to alter his color, and make himself---yes, he goes this far---sparkle.  Some of the other dragons in the cave think he's weird, but Liberace is able to avoid harsher taunts by the intervention of his mother, who knows better than anyone how hard teasing can be to take.  The older Black dragon endured myriad taunts from an older Red female of an aggressive nature, and she is sensitive to see others ridiculed, especially her own son.
