Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Serelus was bred to serve, a guardian who was meant to spend his life guarding the kingdom which had raised him. He, like the other dragons that were born in that place, was meant to be a tool, an unthinking beast to be used like any domestic animal, to serve; but his captain and crew, as did those of many of the dragons, knew he was no stupid slave, but respected him, and a strong bond grew between the dragon and his riders. However, the king was wicked, and when he ordered Serelus's crew-and the other dragon knights-to attack a nearby village that had caused them no harm, they refused, and his riders were condemned to death. But Serelus broke free of his chains just as his captain was about to be hanged, saving him and the others and fleeing into the wilderness, where they live now in peace, gaining ever more followers to overthrow the corrupt monarch. He has never spoken in his life.
