Frostbite Dragons first appear at the beginning of winter, creeping in with the frosts. They have found their place in human lore as the spirits of snow, since they only reveal themselves during icy weather. In the depths of winter, they cover the world in blankets of snow and are believed to be responsible for the glittering frost that creeps over everything. Although they appear cold and distant, they are actually rather mischievous and enjoy spending time dancing through blizzards.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Deselection is a skilled user of ice magic, and he's recently gotten into practicing the rest of the elements, which upsets other dragons, in particular his mate. They don't want him doing more magic, since he's irresponsible and prone to forgetting things. For example, he knows how to teleport and likes to show off, but whenever it'd be a good idea to teleport from someplace dangerous, he forgets to. There was one time Deselection went swimming in the Hi Pelagic Zone armed with protective spells, which was good. Then he saw something scary and wanted to leave quickly, and rather than teleport out with his bubble, he decided to turn the defensive spell into a speed boost and zoom up. He got the bends and died. His friends and mate are still angry with him for lack of forethought, and they also don't like how they resorted to questionable or outright illegal acts to retrieve and revive him. He's now not allowed to go near bodies of water, and whenever he bathes, his mate watches him.
