Horse Dragons have equine-shaped bodies and hooves instead of claws, which allow them to be fast runners. They specialize in running takeoffs, which are quicker than taking off from a stand-still. Horse dragons are able to stalk their prey from the ground then quickly execute an aerial attack for the kill.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A dragon whose name is semi-influenced by his dragon ID, Vanino is the second child of Bindin and ForjOsgeitin and the second horse dragon type they've produced. His older sister, Wipquil, has inspired him to be cunning, quick, and witty. She had told him that a true horse dragon should be able to get out of any situation relying solely on his or her self. Wipquil has lived up to her own words and he dares to follow in her footsteps. He looks up to his sister and even though his parents raised him well, he spent most of his time learning and playing with his sister. The two things his parents did instill in him were bravery and confidence. The clan which his family has created is called Valor Caliber. He keeps to their code and has proven himself over and over again that he is worthy of bearing the clan crest. If he does not choose a mate within his own type, no matter their lineage, he can no longer carry the clan crest. Just as fate has it, he has fallen for the lovely Aurora Bluem.
