Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The Crystal Souleater does not actually eat souls. His Keeper named him after a ridiculous reference they don't expect anybody to understand.

However, with a name such as "Crystal Souleater," he's been completely misunderstood in the cave. A few hatchlings, even some young adults, will come up and ask him whether he really does eat souls, or if he's made out of crystals, or some variation of those two questions. He's used to it, just laughing it off and telling the other dragons to spread the word that no, he is in fact not made out of crystals, and doesn't eat souls either.

A few skeptics will ask him confusing questions that basically mean the same thing as "are you made out of crystal" or "do you eat souls" in order to confuse him into saying yes.

He's learned just to say no to any questions involving his name.
