Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Chocolate has always been a part of Auricoco's life, starting with her heartseeker forefathers. She often jokingly claims that she has chocolate syrup in her veins instead of blood, and while logically this should be impossible, she does live in the Madder Jungle, where logic holds little sway, and vampires never seem interested in biting her, even when she walks straight through their covens. She has a chocolate plantation and keeps her cocoa safe by maintaining strategically-placed clusters of banana trees that attract the neotropicals away from her precious crop. The vast majority of the chocolate she produces she sells to Star Doe to be used in hot chocolate and mocha concoctions at Star Doe's Coffee locations across Valkemare. She generally lives a quiet life, with her main hobbies being avoiding political discussions, watching cocoa beans ferment, and throwing parties for all of her friends' hatchdays and unhatchdays.
